Schweizerische Post

Schweizerische Post – Mailing emotions At regular intervals, the Swiss Post releases a new series of stamps for special occasions, created through a curated competition. This series provides fitting stamps, imbuing the envelope with emotional resonance from the moment it’s sealed – and thus showcasing how even the smallest stamp can achieve profound impact.

In an age of increasing digitalization, artificial intelligence, and anonymity, a letter symbolizes the personal and handmade. Even if the content isn’t handwritten or the stamp isn’t affixed by hand, every letter is still connected to the actions of one or more individuals, their hands leaving their mark. Whether it’s the writer composing the letter by hand or keyboard, the postal worker delivering it, or the recipient opening and reading it.

Within this stamp series, the hand emerges as the central figure, offering solace, encouragement, or love – a winning motif from the competition, now proudly adorning stamps and letters alike.

Ho ho ho

Ho ho ho – All I want for Christmas… is a Christmas card. Over the course of my studies, a tradition took shape, where I craft an annual Christmas card for friends, family, and clients. Beginning with the art of screen printing, these cards have transformed into a delightful array of various styles, imagery, and ever more refined and enhanced printing techniques.

Shown below are my personal Christmas cards from the past years, starting in 2017. These are complemented by the client-based Christmas cards and cookie tin design.

RailAway

RailAway – Nachhaltig in die Zukunft. The illustration for the plant cube and pocket game set, designed as a gift for RailAway’s clients and partners, captures the essence of travel and exploration. Depicting two individuals making their way to the train station amidst a stunning Swiss scenery, encompassing majestic mountain ranges, serene lakes, lush forests, and picturesque meadows. It evokes a profound sense of adventure and wanderlust. This artwork serves as an invitation for viewers to embark on an enchanting adventure with the public transport and kindling a sense of excitement and exploration.

Whether adorning the plant cube as a protective sleeve, adding a touch of charm as a sticker, or etched with precision as a laser-engraving, the artwork beautifully complements the gift, making it an aesthetically pleasing and memorable keepsake.

Elterncoaching

Elterncoaching – Zentralschweiz Elterncoaching Zentralschweiz brings together the specialized expertise of sports psychologist Nicole Mathis and mental trainer Patrick Berwert. Together, they provide supportive guidance to parents of sports-enthusiastic and talented children. Their goal is to advise and guide parents on how to best support and accompany their children on their journey in élite sports.

The illustration for the informational flyer of Elterncoaching employs simple, icon-like motifs to portray the diverse thoughts, desires, and aspirations of parents and children. These are depicted in a continuous loop, symbolically representing the interaction between parents and children and the convergence of their thought worlds.

Die Halde

Die Halde – 1.147m Hochgenuss. Perched 1,147 meters above the mundane, the “Halde” offers a sanctuary that embraces attentive care, where the ultimate luxury is to feel both secure and liberated amidst the mountain’s embrace.

Steeped in history, this hotel holds a cherished tradition, dating back to its first mention in 1142, with a legacy of hospitality stretching as far back as 1337. As the 19th century unfurled, the “Haldenstube” blossomed into a beloved haven, beckoning travelers from Freiburg to seek solace on their cherished mountain, “Schauinsland.”

The Halde’s corporate design is a captivating blend of clarity and simplicity, beautifully contrasting with high-quality, colored papers from Gmund Colors and enhanced by delightful floral illustrations. Immersive landscape photographs, set against generous white space, harmoniously integrate with grids, offering ample room for both essential information and artistic design elements.

Architecture meets Illustration

Architecture meets Illustration. Fed up with lockdown in Spring 2021 (and as a birthday present) I started this series due to my fascination for Brutalist architecture and my love for pastel colors. And it was precisely their apparent polarity that made the whole thing even more interesting to create.

Architecture meets Illustration is an ongoing series, depicting astonishing examples of architecture around the globe – to show the beauty in simplicity, geometry and endurance.

RAW

RAW – Frankfurt. Brutalism as a Statement: Buildings like RAW shine as “Like-Stars” on Instagram, Pinterest & Co. In an era of transformation, they symbolize longevity and a style that defies the alluring mainstream: bold, geometric, and radically modern.

In this same spirit, RAW’s corporate design emerges with clarity and distinction. The custom font is crafted from geometric elements that can be artfully combined, resulting in the creation of singular symbols. The illustration world reflects the essence of straight lines and textures reminiscent of concrete.

EMsana

EMsana – Natürlich pflegend. EMsana cosmetics and body care products contain selected flower essences according to Dr. Bach, which synergistically interact with microorganisms to regulate and harmonize your skin’s flora.

EMsana’s product range includes everything from simple day creams to toothpaste, providing your skin with what it needs for a radiant and healthy appearance.

The logo consists of an elegant serif wordmark and an abstracted and deconstructed form of a wild rose. The wild rose motif is also reflected in patterns and more illustrative representations on the packaging and promotional materials. The pastel color palette is derived from the hues of the wild rose flowers. Together, these elements create a contemporary and sophisticated visual identity for the natural cosmetics line.

Fritz München

Fritz – München. Bye Friedrich – Hi Fritz! Fritz is an office building in Munich’s Schillerstraße, a creative hub in an urban location where Schiller’s outstanding qualities come to life: Fritz is a place of communication – just as Schiller was an outstanding communicator who nurtured relationships and discussed numerous topics in over 2000 letters that he wrote.

Fritz is the place where creation and logic blend into a vibrant alliance for modern ways of working in an inspiring environment. This is the spirit of “Sturm und Drang” reloaded: in the architecture of the building as well as in its interior.

The design illustrates Schiller’s most beloved works, such as William Tell, Maria Stuart, Intrigue and Love, The Maid of Orleans and The Robbers by depicting their main events and characters as tattooesque line drawings.

The logo is based on a custom font – a modern and bold version of a feather script.

Weidt Park Corner

Weidt Park Corner – Europacity Berlin The WPC building, designed by the renowned architect Prof. Volker Staab, stands as the tallest and most striking structure on Otto Weidt Square — the central town square of the new Europacity, located next to Berlin’s main train station.

Five vivid and extensive illustrations depict its location, the green and family-friendly surroundings, the office spaces, and its namesake, Otto Weidt. These illustrations have been incorporated into marketing materials, the website, the city map, and large billboards at the construction site.
