My name is Joel. I am a brand and web design­er, part-time illus­tra­tor and pho­tog­ra­ph­er, type­face col­lec­tor, proud dachs­hund dad­dy, plant and design afi­ciona­do, … I stud­ied visu­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion at the Lucerne Uni­ver­si­ty of Applied Sci­ences and Arts in Switzer­land. After graduating, I lived in Vien­na for 5 years and have since worked for dif­fer­ent Aus­tri­an and Swiss design agen­cies, as well as numer­ous pri­vate clients.*

I am very keen on exper­i­ment­ing with var­i­ous approach­es to cre­at­ing indi­vid­ual visu­al lan­guages for each client, such as spe­cial­ized illus­tra­tions and col­lages or cus­tom typog­ra­phy creations.

My work phi­los­o­phy is based on a “do-it-your­self-approach”; before turn­ing to stock or oth­er cre­atives, I do things myself – which lets me grow with every new project and helps me express my per­son­al under­stand­ing of design through and with the indi­vid­ual work of my clients.

Skills & Expertise

  • 01 — Principles

    As a design­er, I strive to cre­ate visu­al expe­ri­ences that evoke emo­tions and leave a last­ing impact. With a keen eye for aes­thet­ics and a pas­sion for sto­ry­telling, I bring brands to life through com­pelling illus­tra­tions, sleek cor­po­rate designs, cap­ti­vat­ing photo­graphy, and user-friend­ly web designs.

  • 02 — Tools

    I am fluent in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Xd, and Lightroom as well as Figma. I enjoy using Procreate to wield the brush or pencil. Additionally, I constantly challenge myself by experimenting with After Effects and Cinema4D.
    Moreover, thanks to WordPress and Readymag, I am continuously expanding my knowledge of HTML and CSS – and I don’t even shy away from tackling Microsoft Word and PowerPoint tasks.
    And if there is still time for some prompting exercises, I use Midjourney to transform even the most unimaginable ideas into tangible concepts.
